Joint conversion - Teknikhuset

To create more efficient lighting, we are upgrading and switching to LED. In accordance with the new EU directives, which prohibit the import and manufacture of certain fluorescent and halogen lamps, we are taking a step towards a more energy-efficient and sustainable future by switching to modern LED alternatives in the Teknikhuset. The work has now begun and will continue throughout the spring and into the summer of 2026. The lighting replacement has started on floor 4 and will then continue downwards in the property. There will be some noise impact, but it is expected to be relatively short-lived.There will also be some physical impact when the work is underway in the corridor and office/lab. This is being continuously coordinated with those responsible at Umeå University. In the attached file there is a timetable for how the work will progress on floor 4. It will be updated as the project progresses. If you have any questions, please contact Akademiska Hus project manager, Andreas Vikberg, via andreas.vikberg@akademiskahus.se

Renovation and extension of greenhouse Swetree

The work is progressing according to schedule. We have now had the new greenhouse with the associated blackout curtains installed. The new extension for the lab and cultivation room is airtight and we have turned on the heating to be able to lay new surfaces on the floors and walls. Installations such as ventilation units and electrical ducting have begun. The work on the new KB150 is complete and the remaining work in the project will be carried out separately from other operations in the property. At present, we do not see a need to temporarily turn off water, electricity or similar media, but we will provide information via SLU if this becomes necessary. The end date is still scheduled for May 2026.
